The Farewell Blog
It’s the end. Finally. There are many things running through my mind:
HALLELUJAH!! HALLELUJAH!! HALLELUJAH!!
Okay maybe the same thing over and over, but still YAY!!! Though this has been a great experience here at The Hill (…) I must depart from this forbidden place! And although I am experiencing many emotions, sadness is not one of them. No, not at all. Much more along the lines of joy, excitement, more joy, happiness, butterflies and lollipops. It’s a glorious feeling to be graduating.
Anyways, I’ll stop being Nancy. Basically the only thing I have semi-enjoyed throughout my years as a hornet, was HTV. Yes, HTV. I enjoyed Coach Davis’ encouraging words every day as I walked into class (…), the amazing stories that our staff came up with all on our own (…), all the awards we won (…), and just the altogether good quality shows our staff has produced (…). HA! Although we might not have won any awards, and although we might’ve had trouble with stories at times, it was still a good experience! I enjoyed seeing Coach yell at people (including myself…ONCE!:) and I will miss it.
And, no, I’m not attached to anyone in particular from this wonderful place. ….accept maybe a few Seniors, and one or two juniors ;) Goodbye to you all! I realize it will take some time for each and every one of you to continue your lives without my blog, and I am sorry for that. But, I must move on. And so must you. Farewell.
Everyone take a look at Coach’s blog topics for today:
1. Do-Over
2. Perfect college for me
3. Senioritis: It’s Real
Uhm, lame!!!! So… I’ve been forced to come up with something on my own.
At first, I tried to get Kelton to dual blog with me…you know where Kelton writes a blog and then I write exactly what he wrote! Sadly, he said no. Then, I thought about doing a mad-lib, as Michael did a couple times ago. But that took WAY too long. Plan C was me typing BLOG all across the screen like so:
BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOGBLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG, etc.
So, as you can see I legitimately have nothing to write. I put a large amount of effort into this, so there ya go.
Hmm… What to blog about. Well, seeing as Coach did not provide adequate topics, I am being forced to come up with my own. …Therefore, you probably won’t enjoy the rest of this blog.
Soo last night I was sitting on my couch, happily enjoying American Idol, when I look over at my mother (who was sitting on the other side of the room). I was just casually glancing over, when my eye was caught by a ginormous, dark form on the wall next to her head. My heart started beating rapidly, my palms instantly became damp, and I jumped out of my seat..MOM! I screamed (at this point I hit a note that only dogs can hear).
You might be wondering at what I was so afeared. IT WAS ONLY THE WORST, NASTIEST, MOST DISGUSTING, GROSSEST, SICKEST, NASTIEST, MOST DISGUSTING, GROSSEST, SICKEST, NASTIEST, MOST DISGUSTING, GROSSEST, SICKEST, NASTIEST, MOST DISGUSTING, GROSSEST, SICKEST, NASTIEST, MOST DISGUSTING, GROSSEST THING IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD. Yes, it was a Spider.
At this point I told my mother to stare at It until I get back, and I sprinted upstairs to retrieve my father — A.K.A The Spider Killer of the Hale Household. (Yes, we are a house full of girls who despise arachnids and refuse to touch them)
Anyways, long story short my mother succeeded in tracking the Monster Spider; my father succeeded in killing the Monster Spider; then we all succeeded in staring at It on the paper towel to determine what kind of Spider it was.
Yes, I have senioritis.
So I never watch TV. I mostly spend my spare time reading or doing various other things. The only TV show that I watch is 24. I’ve watched it faithfully since way back when, when Jack was still married to Terri, when he was still part of CTU, and before the years of torturing in China. I was excited for the newest season, to see what would happen to Jack next…sadly, though, it’s been a slight disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the show and I won’t give up on ‘ole Jacky, but lately it’s been more like a soap opera than an action-filled suspenseful drama. I mean, come on Renee hold it together, YOU STINKEN STABBED HIM YOU NUTSO!!! However, don’t worry, he is okay, and he didn’t hesitate to rip the knife out of his own stomach and fling it straight into the bad guy’s neck. :) Anyways, back to the soap opera-ness…the whole dealio with Renee and what’s-his-russian-face was waaay too much for me, I was ready for the action!! The soap opera music, the soap opera couples, its LAME! And random Dana or Jenny or what’s her name? Who, even, is she?? I’m having trouble following that little plot section….although Freddy Prince Jr. is a nice addition:)
In conlusion, I won’t be giving up on my most favoritest TV show…but it’s safe to say I’d be happy with more Jack-Filled Action and less random soap opera crazy crap.
Oh, and P.S.
If they say, “We have a situation” one more time…..well, I’d just advise they don’t. Come up with another phrase people!!
So other than the above remarks, 24 is a great show and everyone should watch it! :)
List of things I’m excited for in 2010: (in no specific order)
1. No more high school. Ever.
2. No more blogs.
3. Dear John. (A movie with Channing Tatum, mmm)
4. College.
5. The next book in the Hunger Games trilogy! (August 24th!)
6. Graduation gifts from my peeps.
7. Eating meat in February.
8. RFK Celebration? Eh? Yay? Nay?
9. California!
10. Escaping from crazy nutzos I don’t enjoy seeing everyday… :]
11. My great grandma’s 100th birthday! Woo old!
12. Glee’s back! Yesss
13. 24’s back! Yesss
14. One Tree Hill’s back! Yesss
15. Other things……….
I applied to Missouri State on Monday. AH! I haven’t heard anything back so far, but I’m expecting good news…I mean MSU accepts pretty much anyone, right? So, as of now, I’m planning on going to MSU and then….who knows!
I have no idea what I want to do! I mean career wise…cause I know I wanna get married, have kids, blah blah blah…but otherwise I have no clue what my occupation shall be. I used to want to be a teacher, but I’ve ditched that idea simply because I don’t want to be poor (well and because I have the worst patience in the entire world). Now don’t start thinking, ”Oh, jeez, Lindsey’s so stinking greedy!”, because I’m not! I promise! I’m just thinking realistically:)
Anyways…everyone always jokes that I should be a librarian, or an editor, or writer or something like that because I love to read, but all of those are BOOOOOORING! All a librarian does all day is sort books, shelf books, and help people….does that sound like me? no. All an editor does is read manuscripts all the time….most likely crappy manuscripts and every once in a while a good one comes in, but I would get soooo tired of reading crappy manuscripts. And a writer…I’m just not creative enough, or patient enough!
I guess I should be a little worried, not knowing what I’m going to do for THE REST OF MY LIFE. Oh well, I guess I’ll figure it out…
Alright. Time to blog.
Senior Year on HTV. It’s great!….great opening…great staff…great coffee…
On to more important topics: ‘I am so over…’
….high school, in general. Yeah yeah I know cliche, but SO TRUE. I am ready to move on with my life. Although Hillcrest is such a wonderful high school…it’s time to part.
….the ACT. Someone please tell me, WHATS UP WITH THAT TEST???? For the record, I hate it. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it. October will be my sixth experience with it, I can’t wait!
….superlatives. Now that we all know that Matt and Kelsi are the “Cutest Couple” and Taylor, Bart and Josh are “Best Buds”, our lives can continue. (No offense to those stated above) :)
….hmm, I’m sure there are more. But I’ll spare you.

HTV Staff ‘08-‘09
Farewell!!
This school year is slowly coming to an end, finally. Though it hasn’t been that bad of a year, school is school and I’m ready for it to be over.
Luckily there are plenty of things to look forward to in the summer:
1. Laziness. There will finally be time for doing absolutely nothing. No more college algebra homework, no more after school activites, nothing. All I will be doing is relaxing in my comfy chair, eating milk and cookies, reading my next fav book :]
2. Endless time to eat. No more scheduled eating times! We are all free to snack whenever and wherever.
3. Sun, Sun, Sun. No more sucky rain.
4. Getting away from people that drive you insane. Sad to say I don’t love every single person I come into contact with everyday…
5. Endless time to read: My idea of fun.
6. Making money. More time to work = more money made!! Shopping here I come!
There are probably more things to look forward to, but my interest has already been lost on this topic.
Next year will be a new experience in HTV.
Who knows how it’ll work out……
WE’LL SEE!
